INANNA

A drop of blood, a tender kiss
A boat has sunk into the sea
And lying on the ocean floor
Is the better part of me

I might rise again after dawn
Decides to unearth every pact
Unwritten rules handshakes for fools
Agreements with no sense of tact

Inanna

They might’ve called me god of thunder
When I was younger once or twice
But ritual sacrifice has never really
Been my cup of tea

And now my memory is lost,
My temples razed to the ground
And where there once was love and song
The desert burns without a sound

Inanna
